A collective decision was made by the Offaly hurlers not to line out for their respective clubs in the Offaly football championships.
Two rounds of the Offaly senior, senior B and intermediate championships were pencilled in for the month of April.
The first round of the football championships was played last week and a number of clubs were forced to line out without their county hurlers.
The second round is pencilled in for next week and it looks as if those clubs will once again be without their dual players.
The players concerned have already lined out for their clubs in the hurling championships and the second round is pencilled in for this weekend.
Clubs have contacted the county board over the matter, but they have been told that there is little they can do as the players made the decision themselves.
