Waterford FC have recruited former Kildare gaelic footballer Rory Feely ahead of their return to the SSE Airtricty League Premier Division.

The 21-year-old - who won a Leinster MFC medal in 2015 - is a younger brother of Lilywhite midfielder Kevin who tried his luck at professional soccer in the UK before returning home to become a mainstay of Cian O'Neill's side.

Rory moves to the Blues from St Patrick's Athletic.

"I am very happy to link up with Waterford FC ahead of the new season," he told www.waterfordfc.ie.

"I'm originally from Tramore so I have grown up with the Blues as my local League of Ireland club. I kept a keen eye last season during the promotion push and I now hope to be a part of something big for the club going forward."
