Gary McDaid is set to be ratified as Donegal's new U20 football manager on Monday night and one of his selectors will be 2012 All-Ireland winning defender Eamon McGee.

McGee announced his inter-county retirement last year and is Donegal's fourth most capped footballer after Colm McFadden, Christy Toye and Brian Roper, who will also be part of the U20 management set-up. Francie Friel will complete the management team.

Interviews for the U20 manager's post were held on Wednesday, with McDaid getting the nod ahead of outgoing minor manager Shaun Paul Barrett.

McDaid managed his club Glenswilly to a Donegal SFC title in 2013 and was also involved when they won the Dr Maguire Cup in 2011 and 2016. He also served as a Donegal selector under Rory Gallagher in 2015 and was linked to the senior manager's job following Gallagher's departure this summer.
