The late Shane Hoey Tragedy returned to our club after a few short years when we learned of the tragic death of Shane Hoey along with his friend Mairead Boyle. Shane was a very popular young man and played on all our underage teams normally lining out in the full-forward position, taking crucial scores, which helped his club win trophies in various competitions. He will be remembered in our club for a long time, win or lose he would lift you with a joke or even just by looking at his broad smile. Our thoughts and prayers at this time are with is father Declan, mother Kathleen, brothers Stephen and Colin who currently play for the club, sisters Tara and Aoibheann, also to Edel and to the extended Hoey, Mackin and Nolan families. We would also like to extend our sympathy to Mairead's father John, mother Ann, brother Sean and sister Aoife.
