And then there were four - Dublin, Galway, Tyrone and Monaghan are still standing in this year's All-Ireland SFC following the completion of the Super 8s. Here's our football team of the week...
1. Shaun Patton (Donegal)
Tyrone proved to be the rock on which Donegal's All-Ireland ambitions perished but the Ulster champions can look back on the summer with pride.
2. Mick O'Grady (Kildare)
O'Grady enjoyed the upper hand against Kieran Donaghy, who was called ashore at half-time in Killarney, but was powerless to prevent the Lilywhites from slipping to a big defeat.
3. Drew Wylie (Monaghan)
Wylie and his defensive team-mates restricted Galway to just eight points during the course of their Pearse Stadium encounter.
4. Paddy McGrath (Donegal)
The experienced McGrath was his usual tenacious self in defence and roamed forward to kick a second-half point.
5. Karl O'Connell (Monaghan)
The Farney County speedster, once again, delivered a big display for Malachy O'Rourke's side around the middle third of the field.
6. Mattie Donnelly (Tyrone)
The Tyrone captain's leadership qualities were very much in evidence in Ballybofey.
7. Gavin White (Kerry)
The emergence of White as a half-back of the highest calibre has been a positive for the Kingdom this year.
8. Colm Cavanagh (Tyrone)
Mickey Harte said afterwards that it probably was Cavanagh's "best performance in a Tyrone jersey" and who are we to argue with that.
9. Jack Barry (Kerry)
The midfielder raised three white flags against Kildare but his efforts proved to be in vain and Kerry are now on the look-out for a new manager.
10. Paul Flynn (Dublin)
Flynn scored a cracking goal from distance and also contributed three points for good measure as the Dubs warmed up for a penultimate stage clash with Galway.
11. Paul Cribbin (Kildare)
The Johnstownbridge player took the fight to the Kingdom in Killarney and finished with 1-5 to his name.
12. Cormac Costello (Dublin)
Costello issued a timely reminder of his talents when kicking nine points (six from play) against the Rossies.
13. David Clifford (Kerry)
Put down a large deposit on an All-Star award in his debut senior season with a 2-6 haul against Kildare.
14. Ryan McAnespie (Monaghan)
A return of four points from play capped off a typically energetic performance from the Emyvale player in Salthill.
15. Lee Brennan (Tyrone)
Came off the bench to contribute four points and a fit-again Brennan is a big plus for the Red Hands heading into their semi-final showdown with Monaghan.
