Antrim 1-9

Derry 2-4

Antrim defeated Derry at The Dub tonight to book their place in the last four of the Ulster U20 football championship.

Rory Brolly, son of former All-Ireland winner and Sunday Game pundit Joe, captained the Saffrons to a memorable quarter-final victory over his father's native county in Queens University.

But it was Cargin full forward Pat Shivers who inspired Antrim with five points, including four in the first half at the end of which they led 1-6 to 2-1.

Three goals were scored in the opening 10 minutes as Adam Loughran's for Antrim was sandwiched in between two Derry strikes by Jude McAtamney and Conleth McShane.

Despite playing against the wind in the second half, Antrim were on top and points from Peter Henvey, Shivers and Dominic McEnhill stretched their lead out to five by the 45th minute.

Derry reeled off the last three scores of the game and had a close in free deep into injury-time but couldn't conjure up the third goal they needed.
