Antrim senior footballers are set to be without ace attacker Matthew Fitzpatrick next season following the St John’s man’s decision to withdraw from the panel.

The Irish News reports that Fitzpatrick informed manager Lenny Harbinson of his decision this week as he looks to pursue a soccer career in the Irish League.

It comes as a blow to Harbinson and the Glensmen, having also lost fellow attacker Ryan Murray after his move to Dubai following Lahm Dhearg’s championship exit.

On the plus side, both Tomas McCann and forward Paddy Cunningham are set to return for the Saffrons in 2020 as they look to earn promotion from Division 4 of the National League.
