Donegal 0-21
Queen’s University, Belfast 0-11

Donegal gave a lesson to Queen’s University this afternoon in Ballybofey, where they finished 10-point winners over the Belfast students.

Declan Bonner’s experimental outfit were full value for their 0-13 to 0-5 lead at half-time, with Ciaran Thompson and Michael Langan weighing in with three points apiece and Eoin McHugh sending over a pair to leave their opponents with an uphill battle after the break.

Queen’s made some inroads at the start of the second-half with a brace of early points but they couldn’t threatened the home side’s lead, as newcomer Lorcan Connor and Paul Brennan sailed points at the other end to cushion the Tir Chonaill lead back to eight.

Further scores from ‘Man of the Match’ Thompson, Marty O'Reilly, Connor and Lagan served to kill off the game as a contest, as Donegal now look forward to a second round date with Down in Newry next Sunday while Queen’s travel to take on Cavan in Ballyconnell.
