Ciaran McCavana has been installed as Antrim’s new county board chairman.
The St Enda’s Glengormley clubman was elected to the post at last night’s county convention, seeing off the challenges of Owen Elliott (All Saints) and Joe Edwards (St Paul’s) with 74 votes to 41 and 18, respectively.
The 44-year-old succeeds the outgoing Collie Donnelly and previously served as chairman of St Enda’s, having been hugely involved in the club’s erection of a £1.8m community facility at their grounds in Glengormley.
Yesterday saw Neal Peden announced as the Saffron County’s new senior hurling manager for 2019, with former Dublin boss Anthony Daly set to work alongside him in an advisory capacity.
