Carlow have set up a Joe McDonagh final rematch with Westmeath at Croke Park on July 1 after defeating the Lake County by 3-21 to 1-21 at Netwatch Cullen Park this afternoon.

The Barrowsiders needed a win or draw against the already-qualified maroon and whites, and they duly delivered thanks to a hat-trick of goals from James Doyle. 

Colm Bonnar's charges led by 1-10 to 0-11 at half-time but they found themselves trailing after Niall Mitchell came off the bench to goal for the visitors. However, a 60th minute penalty by Doyle put Carlow back in the driving seat before he completed his hat-trick four minutes from the end.

In Cushendall, Kerry came from 10 points down to register their third win of the campaign at Antrim's expense. Goals from Mickey Boyle and Jack Goulding along with an 11-point haul from Shane Conway handed the Kingdom a 2-19 to 1-20 win. Neil McManus top-scored for the hosts with 0-11.

Meanwhile, Meath have been relegated to the Christy Ring Cup after goals from Paddy Purcell (two) and Cha Dwyer helped Laois to a 3-23 to 0-14 victory in Navan and preserved their Joe McDonagh Cup status.
