Amazingly it could have been 7 in a row they might be going for. But never mind.

The funniest thing about your post is expecting us to believe that anyone would give you a job.

What a achievement to complete 6 in a row Munsters and break the record especially with 4 of those wins coming in the round robin format. Limerick were by far the better team throughout. There will be some competition for place in the 26 never mind the team with a month now to sort all the injuries out. The hunger and workrate was huge, suffocated Clare and never allowed them a foothold in the game.

great result yesterday the tackling was relentless from limerick and never gave clare a chance to get into the game. hego deserved man of the match but was run very close by shane o brien. what a display by the young lad . i really rate and am a big admirer of adam hogan but he couldnt handle o brien. our half back line was excellent again yesterday and byrnes bk to his best again. also dan morrissey had a stormer nothing fancy but very solid and commanding around the square.the months break gives our injured players a great chance to get bk to full fitness and we should have a very strong 26 to pick from for the semi final.

Congratulations on your moment of history. The ould man would be very proud of the county. A fine display but I think/hope that there is even more in Limerick. I'm sure that it hasn't gone unnoticed by Kiely and Co. that even though Limerick totally dominated Clare, had Rodger's shot gone in instead of hitting the post, then only a puck of a ball was in it, entering the final few minutes, a situation which allows for the chance of a sucker-punch like what happened versus Cork.
Limerick have put no team away yet, like they put Kilkenny away in last year's final. From my perspective, that a good thing as it is something I believe they will really work on from now on.

Some posters may question my assertion that Limerick 'totally dominated Clare', but tell me what position on the field did Clare win? Some may say that David Fitz had a good game. He had. But he wasn't able to prevent Kyle Hayes from having a majestic hour...and he did spend a lot of time over on Hayes as he switched between forwards and mid-field a lot, which he does in most games. Dan had a mighty game on Shane O'Donnell, so I put him coming out on top too, not just 50-50. Any defender would be well satisfied after putting in a day like Dan did against O'Donnell. Similar with Tony Kelly, held to 0-3, a win for his marker. Remember, Kelly put in days against ye when he scored anything up to 0-16.

It is very seldom that a ream wins all 15 positions during a game, but such was the cohesiveness of their performance that that's what Limerick did. Still, the game was left hanging, with Clare in with a chance to steal it. That might provide comfort for other teams lift in the race, but it also provides Kiely & Kinnerick with a wake-up call and more ammunition for the next day out.

It could have been 7 in a row? Limerick didn't even make the final in 2019.
There's countless 'could have beens' in hurling and sport in general, down the years.

I omitted to credit Peter Duggan on his warlike display. He was powerful. But even then, did he do any more than break 50-50 with Byrnes? Theirs was a mighty duel to watch. That was the only place where Clare, at most, broke 50-50.

Very true. The one that springs to mind in the current climate is that Kilkenny could have done the 5-in-a-row in 2010...but didn't, just like Limerick are going for 7-in-a-row.

Of course, Wexford footballers could have done the 5-in-a-row in 1919, but who knows what the situation was like back then.

Cork did 4-in-a-row during WW II but were gunned down by Tipp in 1945.

And no need to explain who Seamus Darby is and what he did... But JJ Barrett's Kerry also did 4-in-a-row before from 29-32.

And of course, da Dubs have done it, not even 5, but 6. That made me very happy, but I know it ****** off so many GAA people.

You'll be super-******* off if Limerick do manage the 5. Enjoy, boy!

Fantastic win on Sunday. We outplayed and out thought Clare everywhere. After 15 minutes we seemed to get a handle on it and even if it was close throughout we always looked in control.
Some challenges ahead, Cork will be very dangerous in a possible semi (assuming they and Clare do the business) and potentially Kilkenny then in a final.
But I am sure Kiely and Kinnerk are looking forward to matching Cork in a semi. They seem to relish these type of challenges
On the player side, Finn and Flanagan still not fit, DOD not match fit. Even if all are fit how do we get them game time? Do you play them in a semi? Can we win it all missing all 3 of them?
O'Brien was immense on Sunday but is a very different player to Casey. He isn't the fastest and we lack a little pace in the forwards, certainly compared to Cork. Casey a huge loss. Maybe O Dalaigh is a more like for like replacement but he seems to have slipped down the pecking order.

Caught the game on the big screen at the weekend. Limerick just seem to be pulling out just enough to get through all these encounters. I sense they will steamroll their way to Liam now

6 in a row munster final wins. It's a truly incredible achievement. This is the best team to ever play the game of hurling. For the most part it is the same team more or less. I said they were the best i ever saw in 2021 on this site and they've only reinforced that time and time again since. I adored watching the kilkenny team of the 00s. They were a joy to watch as a neutral. I saw them I'm finals in 07 08 09 and 10. They were some unit but this Limerick team have just edged them and still not finished. People will say they'll need to do the 5 in a row to put clear daylight between them and the cats but for me that's already there.

On the munster final it was a long time since i watched Limerick in a munster final where at no stage I felt we wouldn't win. The pundits tipping clare like Dalo and Mullane felt clare had the edge because of the hunger they'd bring to it. Limerick flipped the script on that. They were ravenous to the ball all over the field. Bar Duggan O Donnell and Leen Clare lacked the required desire and attitude to compete last Sunday. People will flick back to missed goal chances but clare didn't play as a unit Sunday. It was a sporadic show of individual performances but no cohesive effort.

Clare have an issue with the goalkeeper and its not a recent one. The value of Quaid is immeasurable when you see what others are lacking. HOTY candidate for me again. The FB line were smart, aggressive and composed. O Donnell and Rodgers are serious threats. The HB line was immense 9 from play. 1-08 also from assists. Hayes is having the best year of his career and its saying something. He has been colossal and unmarkable all year. Deccie was way more fluid on his feet and clipped two lovely points as did Byrnes beside him. Byrnes and Duggan were warriors Sunday. They fought for everything and the huge embrace at the end was class to see. Like 2 fighters that went to the trenches.

Hegarty is like a man possessed this year. I remember noting after the league match v Antrim in Thurles that he looked hungrier than ever. He is on a mission. Single handedly dragged Limerick over the line in Ennis and is correctly having a HOTY type year. Can't pick between him and hayes for favourite right now . Tom was very good Cian was quiet . Reidy was excellent and Gillane always showing.

Shane o Brien is made for this. What I love about him and I first saw it in saltillo in 2023 league was his ability to position his body constantly out in front of his man. Then His strength to break ball if not able to field and hold off his man and lastly his ability to field. He is like a lethal mix of Gillane and Flanagan and his ability to process the week of a munster final and still perform so well at 19 is remarkable. Limerick hurled well and their accuracy was 75%. They only got off 37 shots which is below their benchmark but that'll but looked at ahead of croke park.

For clare I noticed Tony Kelly and John Conlon didn't take part in a warm up drill that clare do with a man hunched over the opponent trying to rise the ball. It's an intense drill based on rucks. I wonder how fit Kelly is?? Was David Mc 100%? How did David Reidy not start and then only brought on after 63 minutes? Lots of soul searching in clare and wexford might be a tough proposition.

Kilkenny looked awesome but there is a major asterisk but Dublins inexplicable showing. Not worth commenting more. All I'll say is Dublin have a lot of very good talented hurlers so the Q final should see a big improvement.

Munster is over again and a huge piece of history written.
