Ah that all adds up because he was also talking about Kilkenny coming out and trying to work goals as if it was insulting to Carlow. Kilkenny have always tried to work goals against every team as long as I can remember. It is in their DNA. I am happy to hear they enjoyed the win, we have 1-2 bottles of beer after every game and we all go for a recovery run the next day logged on Strava, mainly a collective run for 35-45 minutes. It has NO impact on performance. Viking, I would point out once they stopped well before Sunday morning it wouldn't matter. Sunday night after a Saturday evening game might matter a bit more, add up a lot of pints and a kebab and that might stick around the system. But 1-2-3 bottles? Not a bother. But the problem then is, Wexford go out and beat them by 10 points (I don't think they will, but go with me) and the first thing pointed to will be "they were drinking last Saturday after the match". Odd attitude, but 3 days drinking after they exit the championship? StoreysTash (Wexford) - Posts: 1741 - 17/05/2024 11:21:58 2545227 Link 0 |
Yeah it seems completely counter-intuitive. The backs can't be changed after the last day, Lawlor played his best game in the middle too, and making what seems like a positional re-jig to apparently accommodate a player that wouldn't be an automatic starter all things being equal, looks illogical as well. Dwyer and Casey are the most like-for-like replacements in my opinion. beano (Wexford) - Posts: 1425 - 17/05/2024 11:35:57 2545234 Link 0 |
Folks, go listen to Joe Brolly's 'Free State' podcast this week about Donegal and Armagh - he has some really interesting observations about fears of losing, winning mindsets etc. wexford2012 (Wexford) - Posts: 63 - 17/05/2024 11:44:56 2545237 Link 0 |
It's a bit square peg round hole for me if I'm being honest.

Think Dunbar is more like for like for Byrne than Casey tbh. Agree Dwyer should start in the half forwards if fully fit.

Can't see that team starting. I'd imagine Casey will come in for Simon and push lawlor to midfield stick Casey inside and push Dunbar out to half forward line. ChinCanHurl (Wexford) - Posts: 270 - 17/05/2024 12:47:20 2545258 Link 0 |
To be fair to him he was our best defender last year. I agree though. He's struggling at the minute. I'll be very surprised if we line out like that Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 2749 - 17/05/2024 12:54:40 2545260 Link 0 |
Not sure. I do think inside is Dunbars best position tbh

We are only second guessung Rossi he may change the starting team he might not. if it stays the same I can see sense in having impact on the bench to come in when needed not if . Formertownie (Wexford) - Posts: 189 - 17/05/2024 13:46:14 2545273 Link 0 |

I can't see Jippo in the half backs. Surely everyone knows how vulnerable we are in the fullback line without him. Remember Dublin remember Antrim. Magpie2 (Wexford) - Posts: 301 - 17/05/2024 15:46:25 2545305 Link 0 |
