Gearóid White and Ronan Carroll scored 0-8 and 1-5 respectively as Kerry retained their Munster MFC title with a 2-18 to 1-6 drubbing of Cork at Páirc Uí Rinn last evening.

The victory ensured the Kingdom of a clean sweep of provincial senior, U20 and minor titles for the second year running, and was their 51st at minor level. Second half goals from captain Ben Murphy and Carroll crowned a brilliant performance by the holders who led by 0-11 to 0-3 at half-time. The writing was on the wall for the hosts when Kerry stormed into a 0-8 to 0-2 lead thanks to scores from Murphy, Michael Horan and White.

Murphy raised the first green flag in the 38th minute before Danny Miskella replied with 1-1 for the Rebels. But Kerry continued to hold all the aces as Carroll dispatched a late penalty to complete the rout.

Both teams now advance to meet the Connacht finalists in their All-Ireland quarter-finals next month.
