McGinley and Lambe drafted into seniors, will we see them in the group stage? Surely a huge ask, what age is McGinley?

This is his last year at u 20.
He might get a few minutes as a sub v Cavan?

Agree with that decision even though some people might disagree. Even if the two lads do not get any game time, it will be a great experience for them to experience the senior team environment in championship mode.
I would not like have to mark McGinley if he came on with 15 minutes to go and Dermot or Enda picking him out. I must have replayed McGinley's goal against Derry about 20 times and it gets better each time. For example I could see Ben and Sean doing a bit of damage together if left up the field one on one with their markers.
Happy to leave it to the management team to make the decisions. (Game time or not!)

Lambe already with the senior panel and made his senior debut in the FBD. McGinley turned 20 last month. Next year in Div 2 I would expect to see them more than the upcoming group stage.

Davy Burke also gave an update on the injury front. Cathal Heneghan not expected back until round 3 v Cavan (I believe that was MCL injury) Hopeful on Harney (hamstring) Murray (ankle) can feature against Dublin likewise Ronan Daly who picked up a knock. Keith Doyle back to full fitness too.

Yea I agree. Think it's a good decision. Could be wrong but did Tyrone draft one of the Canavans into the senior panel on the back of a good underage campaign? We are struggling for scores this year so definitely no harm having more options.

Also good to hear Harney and Davy Murray are hoping to be back for Croker. Cathal Heneghans injury must have been bad enough if they not expecting him back till the Cavan game.

Any idea where the Cavan v Roscommon game will be fixed?

Am I right in saying Dublin v Cavan is in Breffni Park and that would leave Mayo and Dublin in a neutral venue?

Looking forward to the games this weekend. Interesting to see how Galway, Derry and Mayo fair out. Can't see anything but a win for Kerry over Monaghan. Kerry fielding a very strong 15 - looking to get the job done and get 2 wins out of 2.

The Cavan v Roscommon game will be fixed for a neutral location, probably Longford or Mullingar. It is provisionally scheduled for 2.15pm on Sunday 16th June, the same time as the Mayo v Dublin match. (3rd match in the group stages).

Carrick is out of action as they're laying a new pitch (about time sez you).
So Longford, Mullingar, Sligo....
Will depend on whether those teams are at home in Tailteann action.

If Cavan manage a result at the weekend it'll fairly put the cat among the pigeons. Don't know enough about Cavan to know if they can make up for the loss of Lynch.

Well done to the Roscommon Minor footballers and management for progressing into the Connacht final. Seven point winners in Tuam, harsh score line on Galway but our goals came at the right time and gave us the cushion to close out the game.

Connacht final will be against favourites Mayo but at least we have home advantage for it and regardless how we do there it's All Ireland Quarter final against Kerry or Cork. Between Minor and U20 a lot of good talented players coming through in the county once again.

Satisfactory performance by the minors last night while leaving lots of space for improvement. (retaining possession and reducing turnovers) Certainly not a double score game as Galway were actually ahead when we scored our first goal just before half time and quickly added a second.
Took their goal chances very well but will be fully aware that tougher matches lie ahead. Some impressive players emerging.

Kerry beat Cork by 15 points in the Munster Minor Final so the Connacht winners will have the easier quarter final.
Mayo are highly rated and I've seen them tipped to win the Minor All Ireland this year so a tough task awaits Roscommon next Friday night. Still I like this Roscommon team and I think they can give a good account of themselves. Interesting to see so many players on this Roscommon team from small clubs like Ballinameen , Ciaran's and Shannon gaels. Are the Casey lads brothers I wonder. There isn't a Brigid's or Boyle player on the panel of 24 for last night and not a Clann or Ros gaels player in the starting 15.

Those big clubs need to get their act together!!
Great result and as said earlier great to see us putting out good underage teams.
The round Robin format helps greatly with player and team development.
Onwards to the Final.

Well done to the minors. Great to see teams reaching provincial finals and competing in the latter stages of both underage competitions. Can only be good for development. Yea I thought the same about Bridgets and Boyle, very unusual.

Thanks. Yes I remember Sean Casey playing for Roscommon. It doesn't seem that long ago either.

To give a better idea on the panel. At U16 club level last year Boyle and Brigids played in Div 3 in the championship and neither reached the final. Best in Div 1 was Oran/St. Croan's,Castlerea St Kevins,Kilmore/Shannon Gaels,Pearses and best in Div 2 St Michaels/St Ronans. Certainly good for the development of these young rossies.

@Endgame Kerry did have a easy win in the Munster final against Cork but they also played each other in a play off which Kerry won narrowly.

Hard luck to our U17 and senior hurlers championship campaign over but unlucky not to beat Mayo in both games and reach the finals.
