Who would have thought that playing the same players, and having no game plan or proper coaching would lead to another poor performance?... Ground breaking relevation that.

Can't understand this logic in the GAA to never sack a manager mid season, he should have been sent packing after the last game.

I'll give you a free tip if you're reading Henry.
If you don't even have the ball winners to make a long puck out a 50/50(which isn't even a smart play IMO), you probably shouldn't be pucking the ball long.
Maybe work on some sort of system that tries to negate that disadvantage we have.
When Conor Cooney is your best "ball winner" from puck outs you're in a bit of bother.

I heard a man on the radio today say the same thing that I've always maintained.......beat Dublin and win the Leinster Final get on a roll and who knows where you could end up.
I know We are not playing brilliant but We are good enough to get back into the All Ireland Semi Final.

Maybe you, and other Galway supporters, need to shed your delusions of grandeur. Galway have won a total of 5 hurling All-Irelands. Only one AI win in the last 35 years. Galway people on here were continuously moaning and whining about the previous managers to Shefflin.
Nobody can make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

Of course - it is almost as bad as losing 5 national titles (including 3 AI's) in the last 5 years and being very lucky to scrape a draw against Carlow last week. Show us all your football medals - of course KK don't (or should we say can't) play football! lol

There's a difference between expecting to win AIs and hitting levels of performance relevant to the teams ability.

The team plays like one who has no direction.

No they weren't. There was very little moaning or whining about Donoghue or Cunningham. There was moaning and whining about McIntyre alright, and rightly so. Wasn't much moaning or whining about O'Neil either, because it was covid years, and people were happy just to see a game on the box.

There isn't much moaning or whining about Shefflin at all. Won a Walsh Cup last year to satisfy punters! Quite the opposite actually, we're now known as 'Henry Shefflin's Galway', and not Galway at all.

I think it's more frustration/aggravation than anything. With the success we have had in Galway at every level EXCEPT Seniors it's just sickening. Since 1980 when I started following Galway Hurling we have been one of the top hurling counties but very little to show for it in the Senior ranks. The Canning years should have been more fruitful. Sigh.

Good luck to the minors today

Daunting task to face a team that beat you by 19 points already this year but the improvement since then has been exponential.

A win would get us through to the Leinster Final next weekend, defeat means we face either Cork or Waterford

We would moan about managers we deem inadequate, of course. But we would hardly be any different to anyone else in that regard.

If Lyng was obviously not getting the best out of his players would Kilkenny sit on their hands? It seems unlikely

We've been predominantly unsuccessful at the u20/u21 grade for 13 years. That has presented Shefflin with a serious problem imo.
